Palaniuk seventh at Bassmaster Elite Series event

ORANGE, Texas — Brandon Palaniuk of Hayden finished seventh Sunday at the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Elite at Sabine River.

Palaniuk, the former Lakeland High and North Idaho College wrestler, had a four-day catch of 38 pounds, 1 ounce. He pocketed $13,000.

Greg Hackney of Gonzales, La., won with a total of 48 pounds, 5 ounces, and earned $100,000.
