LEWISTON — After winning at Booth Hall for the first time since the 2012-13 season, the Post Falls girls moved one step closer to locking down the 5A Inland Empire League title and home-court advantage through the Region 1 tournament.

Senior Bayley Brennan scored 11 of her 16 points in the first quarter, and also had eight assists, as the Trojans beat the Lewiston Bengals 64-36 on Friday.

“We just did a good job of finding the right people tonight,” Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. “Bayley hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter, and we just played steady the entire way. We didn’t get a lot of transition stuff, but got some timely points. We talked about not winning down here before the game, and the girls came down and did a good job being ready to play.”

Post Falls (16-2, 4-0 5A IEL) can clinch the league title with a win next Friday at Lake City.

Melody Kempton had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Tyler McCliment-Call had 19 points for Post Falls, which hosts Mt. Spokane on Thursday.

Lewiston is 12-5, 1-3.
