The Neighborhood of the Week is often about the best of what’s available. In the case of the homes, townhomes and apartments just west of Highway 95 near Target, it’s the unavailable that can say a lot about the neighborhood’s desirability.
Comprised of so many quality living options for buyers at all levels, it’s easy to see why it could be so in-demand.
Duane Oliver, a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty, has made recent sales in the Lake Forest Townhouses, located on Hanley Avenue between Ramsey Road and Highway 95. A three-bedroom, 2.5 bath home with more than 1,700 square feet was recently listed at $219,000.
Now there’s nothing available, though Oliver said a couple more properties in Lake Forest will be available soon.
“It’s a tight little community with high end finishings, wide open floor plans and are easy to maintain,” Oliver said.
Near the Lake Forest Townhouses are the Timberline Lodge Apartments. They offer 1-3 bedroom apartment homes ranging in price from $935 to $1,260 per month. Modern finishes, including granite countertops, and fireplaces are available. Patios/balconies and a washer and dryer are included in every unit. Judging from the online list of available units, the Timberline seems to be another extremely popular dwelling option in the area.

Homes in the neighborhoods west of Highway 95 pop up here and there, though as of this writing, just one listing is active — a three bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with 1,347 square feet located just south of Hanley on Galewood. It’s listed at $231,900. It’s a tight market in the area at the moment, especially compared to how much more is available heading west on Hanley across Ramsey Road and into Coeur d’Alene Place.
A drive-through the area provides some clarity. Though the homes and apartments are within easy walking distance of Target, the Silver Lake Mall and Highway 95, the area is quiet and well-maintained. The neighborhood is also near Lake City High School, Bluegrass Park in Coeur d’Alene Place, the Coeur d’Alene Soccer Park and Skyway Elementary.
