Karen Reynolds, 78
On June 5, 2018, at the age of 78, Karen Reynolds went home to be with the Lord. Karen was born to B.K. and Lois Barden on Sept. 25, 1939, in Smelterville, Idaho. She was one of four children.
At a young age they moved to Spokane Valley, Wash., where she went on to graduate from Central Valley High School in 1957.
On a blind date in 1956, Mom met her future husband and the love of her life, Garry Reynolds, from Post Falls, Idaho. They were married Oct. 12, 1957, until his passing in 2003, after 46 years of marriage.
After they were married, they began their life together in Post Falls, Dad working at Northwest Timber, and Mom being a homemaker. They had two children, Roger and Karie. Years later she went to work at Post Falls Elementary School
Mom was a beautiful woman and had many talents such as gardening, sewing, cross-stitching, teaching forestry in 4-H, riding horses, cooking, building and just being able to figure out any challenge that came her way. She loved camping, hunting and fishing, and anything to do with Dad, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry, in 2003; her parents, B.K. and Lois Barden; brother, Don Barden and sister, LaVerne Barden.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis (Russ) Brown; son, Roger (Laurie) Reynolds and daughter, Karie (Mike) Waterhouse; grandchildren, Kim (Luke) Vernon, David (Bethany) Waterhouse, Kellie (Quintin) Fender and Kristie (Travis) Carson; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, Reese, Rylee and Randee Vernon, Carter, Macy and Levi Waterhouse, Grayson, Owen and Finley Fender, Tyler, Ethan and Kolby Carson; along with many nieces and nephews. You will be greatly missed Mom, but we are happy you are home with our Lord Jesus Christ and Dad.
My deepest thanks to the staff of The Garden at Orchard Ridge and all the love and care they gave Mom, as well as Hospice of North Idaho for all your support and care; what a wonderful service you were to all of us.
