D-DAY: Thank you, but…

Print Article

I want to thank the Coeur d’Alene Press for putting an article in the paper about D-Day on June 6, D-Day. It was only one article in the C section. Also I want to thank Snoopy for covering the D-Day invasion. He does this every year. At least Snoopy knows how important this day is. I would still like to see more of an article about the actual D-Day invasion and any vets who live in the area that was at the landing. I will say that your Memorial Day coverage of the vets was very good.

D-Day was the major invasion and battle and turned the war and it would be nice to see the paper cover some of those stories about D-Day on D-Day. But as I say it is nice to have at least one story, where over the past few years you have not covered D-Day at all. I have also written into the paper wondering why D-Day had not been covered. This year I am giving you credit for covering D-Day, even though it is in section C, but the coverage of a brave World War II vet who served on The USS Nevada. I thank him for his service.

Maybe you can have a little more coverage next year and put it on the front page of section A. Would be nice. Our World War II vets deserve the honor.
