I joined Facebook several years ago but have seldom used it. Based on the many indicators that too many entities have access to my info, including the Pressís strong connection to that platform, I am in the process (not easy) of cancelling my Facebook account. I suspect that will cause me problems in the future in my interactions with organizations that have bought into the Facebook mystique. I am willing to have to deal with that.

I am doing this in the name of my privacy and to avoid the distortions of truth that happen because of dependence on and misinterpretation of information on Facebook. I am sure that my minuscule problem is magnified millions of times in this world of electronic dependence.
