The article on Flags for Veterans by Brian Walker was well written and sounds like a good plan with help on the way. The only thing not mentioned was that every veteran who served in war time or all veterans serving after Jan. 31, 1955, are entitled to a burial flag covering the casket and then presented to the next of kin. Check the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs website for all the details. Generally, any funeral director should be able to obtain the flag. There are also many benefits, i.e. a headstone provided (not installed) for burial at a private cemetery.
