I suspect that you are going to get hate mail, in the form of letters, texts and email, from your column in Friday’s Press regarding the impact of a presidential visit to a disaster or trauma site.

But you can be certain that I will not be one of them.

Thank you for addressing this issue. You are spot on. In the midst of tragedy and chaos, there is no reason to create further disruption that results when a president and his entourage, along with all of the necessary safety measures in both personnel and vehicles, moves into the center of the chaos.

Period.
