In honor of the Daniel Boone Library One Read book “Turner House,” we’re asking you to share a story about your home, about your family or a little bit of both.
We'll publish stories in print and online for the community to enjoy and connect with.
Here are some prompts to get you thinking:
Have you ever had to decide the fate of a family heirloom? How did you reach your decision?Do you think family life requires a compromise between being truthful with each other and getting along?Do you think each generation of our family changes its character? What role does a house/home play in your family? What is home to you? What kind of mischief did you get into with your siblings growing up?Do you have a family ghost story?
How to share your story
In person: Attend a story booth event and record your story with us. We will have a recording station 8 a.m.–noon Saturday at the Columbia Farmers Market.Write it up and send it in: Use our submission form at http://bit.ly/sharewithmissourian Talk it out over the phone: Call our community voice mail and leave a message with your story: (573) 340-6397
Record a story or have a conversation?
You can write out your story, or for a more engaging experience, grab a sibling, child or parent to share the story with so they can ask questions. It also works the other way around, if you have questions and want to get answers from a family member on the record, here's your chance!
If you have questions, leave a comment below or call Director of Community Outreach Matt Dulin at 882-8182 or email email@example.com.
