DEER: A painful statement

Regarding the report of “Injured deer euthanized,” a Fish and Game educator said deer don’t experience pain like humans do. Typical of what to expect from a government employee.

I believe deer and other animals experience pain exactly the way humans do. The deer was licking her legs because of the pain. What was she supposed to do?

I hope your readers were not influenced by this statement.
