Ratliff’s clutch single lifts Indians

SPOKANE Tyler Ratliff laced a single to right field to score Nick Kaye in the bottom of the ninth inning and lift the Spokane Indians to a 6-5 win over the Eugene Emeralds in Northwest League baseball before 4,118 at Avista Stadium.

Curtis Terry hit a solo home run in the second inning and finished with three RBIs, and Chris Siese and Clayton Middleton each had two hits for Spokane (9-3), which travels to Everett to play the AquaSox tonight at 7.

Lucas Jacobsen pitched a scoreless top of the ninth, striking out two, to pick up the win for the Indians.
