GOP: One man’s view

Print Article

One has to sympathize with Christa Hazel. She makes some good points, but she lacks perspective.

Several years ago I ran for office but got little help from the Central Committee. When the more liberal were the majority on the Central Committee they were not even sure they were going to let me run.

After they were outnumbered by more conservative committeemen, many of them quit coming to the meetings. We felt this strange as we did not hesitate to help them when we strongly disagreed with them.

There is tremendous freedom on the Central Committee. Members may bring resolutions on just about any subject. While they may not seriously apply to our own situation, they are important to the one bringing them.

Rather than complain about the direction of the Central Committee why not convince the more liberal in our county to vote. Our Central Committee is democratic and run with Robert’s Rules and that guarantees that everyone has a right to be heard.

If I have any complaint it would be that the Central Committee needs to guarantee that everyone who runs for office is Republican at heart, that they support the Idaho Republican Party Platform. Too many call themselves Republicans who do not support Republican principles.

Make America Great Again, Starting With Idaho.
