COEUR d’ALENE — This Saturday, it’s all about the kids.

The Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County is hosting a Day for Kids in McEuen Park from noon to 4 p.m. The event will feature bounce houses, free food, family activities, an ice cream truck, a photo booth, T-shirts, swag bags, a Wells Fargo stagecoach with real horses, vendors with free carnival games and more.

“Day for Kids is a day set aside each year to celebrate and honor America’s children by spending meaningful time with them. It’s about celebrating kids — children, grandchildren or any child in need of mentoring,” a Boys and Girls Club press release reads.

“Kids need the adults in their lives to be present and engaged. As they grow up, they need our help to discover their talents, form healthy habits and resist negative peer pressure. By spending meaningful time with them, we help young people develop a positive self-image, a sense of belonging and purpose.”

The Day for Kids is free and open to the public.
