INSURANCE: Feels like bias

Print Article

It is a sad, sad day when insurance providers will recognize and provide coverage in cases of “Domestic Partnership” of same-sex couples, but don’t offer the same respect to an unmarried man and woman who share a 5-year-old son and in every other sense are a couple. PLEASE justify this in any way that makes sense.

I have no issue with people’s sexual preference one way or the other, but when the world begins making exceptions and provisions to accommodate the same-sex couples while denying the same to an unmarried heterosexual couple with children, I consider that a clear case of obvious politically correct prejudice against the majority who still value and recognize the value of a man and woman coupling we grew up with. Essentially, a heterosexual couple is being punished or not given the same opportunity as the new same-sex coupling being shoved down our throats at every turn.

EVERYTHING is about avoiding offending anyone of different color, sexual preference or gender identity conflicts. It certainly appears that the “normal” are now the minority being prejudiced against. So where is the fairness and equality of services and opportunity offered the heterosexual couple that is equal to provisions offered the same-sex couple for insurance coverage?
