Esther Keevy (Conrad), 78

Esther Keevy (Conrad), 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 11, 2017, with her daughters by her side.

She was born in Spokane, Wash., on June 29, 1938, to Claude and Katherine Conrad, growing up in a large family of nine children. She attended and graduated from Holy Names Academy in Spokane.

Esther married Gene Keevy in June 1956 and moved to Coeur d’Alene a few years later. They raised their family of five children and started “House of Service” a small cleaning, painting and home restoration business, successfully running it for more than 30 years.

In their later years, they owned property at Black Lake, that became the setting for many happy family gatherings. In 2006, Gene and Esther celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their longtime Coeur d’Alene home on Lost Avenue, with family and friends.

Esther was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and was an avid bridge player.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; son Mark; sister Evelynn Taylor and two precious grandbabies.

Esther is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Gina Whiteman (Jim) of Coeur d’Alene, Kelly Marinovich (Mark) of Liberty Lake, Robin Cook (Rick) of Hayden and Shannon Simonsen (Kevin) of St. Maries; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

“Esther is now with Papa and the babies.”

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home and Gathering Center, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, with Yates Funeral Homes in charge of the arrangements. Please visit Esther’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
