LUXURY: Remember poor, too

For some time I have been concerned about the trend to fill every available building space in the downtown area with “luxury” high end and expensive condos and apartments. Think Shady Pines replacement and the proposed structure at Eighth and Front.

What about the lower income folks? Is an increase in the homeless population a result?

There is a movement afoot to maximize profit at the expense of these folks. All poor aren’t necessarily bad neighbors intent on lowering their neighbors’ property values.

The Bible says that “the poor will always be with us.” It also says to “love your neighbors.”
