SPOKANE — On the court for the first time this season — and some for the first as varsity players — the Post Falls Trojans beat the Rogers Pirates in 10 of 16 matches on Thursday afternoon.

“It was good to get out and play for a change,” Post Falls coach Kirk Hartzell said. “It was nice when we started, but cold when we finished. Most of our doubles teams had never played, or even practiced together, but they responded really well.”

The boys doubles team of Dalton Frye and James Melton won in straight sets for Post Falls, which claimed wins in four of six doubles matches, and swept in mixed doubles.

“Both Dalton and James played like it was the middle of the season,” Hartzell said. “They worked well together and it was a fun match to watch.”

Post Falls travels to East Valley today.
