Football officals’

training planned

Due to the demand for high school and youth football officials, the North Idaho Officials Association is offering a series of football officiating training sessions for 2017.

There will be one evening training session per month, starting with the first meeting on March 22, and then culminating with an indoor/ outdoor clinic in June.

These meetings are designed to start with the football officiating basics, then advancing upward with each additional meeting. These meetings are highly interactice, and will include video and printed training manuals. Mentors include current NCAA D-I (Pac-12/ Big Sky) officials and the District 1 high school mentor team.

The first meeting is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the Best Western Plus- Coeur d’Alene Inn. It is for brand new officials, to officials with up to two years experience.
